Co-Op Local Community Fund

We are delighted to have been chosen to be part of the Co-op Local Community Fund. We're raising money to buy more tools and equipment for our volunteer work parties.

Saturday 4th February

A huge thank you to the 32 volunteers who cut & burnt willow in the reed beds today for four hours. We also did a litter pick & sanded off the graffiti on the bench in the shelter. Great to be joined by 6 new volunteers, and so many young families.

The injured Swan rescued from site by Swan Lifeline was released back on site today after making a full recovery.

Great to have the wonderful Growth Team from Surrey Choices working alongside our Friday Irregulars again today. 17 of us spent 4.5 hours coppicing and scrub bashing, opening up the woodland edge, as we start to rejuvenate an ancient hedgerow.

Saturday 18th February

What a turn out to our nest box building session today for #NationalNestBoxWeek. An amazing fifty-seven volunteers spent the morning building 90 nest boxes. These will all be donated to Badshot Lea Infants School, Gosden House School, Parkside Aldershot, Ticehurst Carehome, and lots of other deserving spots in the local community.  Special thanks to Katie & Debbie for running the painting. And to Dina for being the one organised person in a sea of chaos! 

Thanks to Blackwater Valley Nature Walks for generously sponsoring our nestbox building work party today. Colin (and Blackwater Valley Nature Walks) have been a long-term supporter of the Tice's Meadow Bird Group and our work on site.
