Reporting of Schedule 1 Breeding BirdsFrom March 19th no Schedule 1 species which may be breeding on site (or other species which we deem to be sensitive) shall be reported publicly. This is for the protection of the birds.

Friday May 5thOli reported 2 Black Tern this morning.
In addition, Richard Horton reported an Arctic Tern and a Hobby this evening.
Black Tern is the 121st species of bird recorded on site this year.
This is only the 7th recorded sighting of Black Tern on site.
Arctic Tern is the 122nd species of bird recorded on site this year.
This is only the 15th recorded sighting of Arctic Tern on site.
Saturday May 6thDave Baker reported a Redshank, a Greenshank, 2 Yellow Wagtail and a Sedge Warbler this morning.

Andy Little reported seeing juvenile Great Spotted Woodpeckers on his garden feeders this morning, before they flew back into the neigbouring Tice's Meadow.

In addition, Andy Little reported a Green Sandpiper, a Great-crested Grebe, 13 Common Tern, a Wheatear and 2 Red Kite today.
Lesser Whitethroat is the 123rd species of bird recorded on site this year.
The first Lesser Whitethroat of 2017 was recorded 23 days later than in 2016.
Monday May 8thKevin Duncan reported the first Mallard young today - a brood of 9.
Tuesday May 9thMurray Nurse reported an Oystercatcher, a Grey Plover, a Grey Wagtail, a Yellow Wagtail, a Whinchat and a Red Kite this morning.
In addition, Oli reported a Little Grebe today - a site rarity recently since the water levels have lowered.
Oystercatcher is the 124th species of bird recorded on site this year.
This is only the 26th recorded sighting of Oystercatcher on site.
This is only the 7th recorded sighting of Grey Plover on site, but the 2nd this year.
Wednesday May 10thJohn Hunt reported a Common Sandpiper, a Greenshank, 2+ Garden Warbler, 2 Kestrel and a Red Kite this morning.
