Sunday 2nd April

24 children enjoyed an Easter scavenger hunt around site this morning, and 12 families enjoyed a free river dipping session this afternoon. Well done Katie for organising, and Debbie for the face painting.

Roger (a licensed bird ringer) and Anya checked all 40 nest boxes this morning. 29 were occupied by either Blue Tits or Great Tits. 6 Blue Tits on eggs, 12 Great Tits on eggs, and 11 unidentified nests in progress.

Thanks to the 15 volunteers who turned out for our work party this morning, including a team of 10 from the wonderful Surrey Choices Growth Team. We used wood that had been cleared from the river over winter to build a dead hedge overlooking the reed beds.
